I am, for a one week period only (March 16-23, 2005), going to collect any custom portrait files people wish to use on Avils and add them to a new set of Avlis portrait packs that you can download from a link on this wiki. --Tissa 18:35, 15 Mar 2005 (GMT)

Custom Portrait Upload Procedure


If you have a portrait that you want added follow these steps


green text is an example of what you need to enter

step 1

  • Create a folder named "_portrait_ForumName_CharacterName"
"_portrait_Tissa_Aspen"

step 2

  • In the new folder add a text file called "info.txt" with the following information
Forum Name: Tissa
GS Player Name: Tissa_Forrest
Character Name: Aspen 
|
Gender: Female 
Race: half-dryad
|
Class 1: Druid
Class 2: 
Class 3: 
Base file: hdryad_aspen_*

step 3

  • Add a subfolder called "main" and put the 5 portrait files (T,S,M,L,H) that your character is linked to into it.

step 4 (optional)

  • Add a subfolder called "alt" and put an alternate set of portraits in it (same file names as in the "main" folder)
I may or may not use the alternates for something. Just collecting right now.

step 5

  • Zip the folder "_portrait_ForumName_CharacterName" to create the file "_portrait_ForumName_CharacterName.zip"

step 6

  • Click here (Open in New Window)
  • For Your Name put your Forum Name

  • Fill in your Email Address
Tissa@avlis.org
  • Fill in the Name of file as "_portrait_ForumName_CharacterName"
"_portrait_Tissa_Aspen"
  • Fill in the Version (1, 2, 3 ...)

  • Browse to the zip file on the File line
  • For the Description put "Avlis Custom Portrait for ForumName (CharacterName)"
"Avlis Custom Portrait for Tissa (Aspen)"
  • Hit Submit and Upload

step 6b (if step 6 doesn't work)

(only do this if you can't get step 6 to work)

  • Send me an email at [tissa@avlis.org]
  • subject: "Avlis Custom Portrait for ForumName (CharacterName)"
  • body:
  • Version (1, 2, 3 ...)
  • Attach the zip file you created in steps 1-5.
