Over the next two hundred years, the Blood Wings served as Jechran's first line of defense against raiders along the northwestern border. They weren't always victorious but they made their foes pay a high enough price that moving deeper into Jechran would mean their death. Their last battle was against their mortal foe the Blue Foxes. Who had spent the last two hundred years attacking without mercy along the borderlands. Which took place along the border at a place called High Meadow near the Gnomish lands. The Blood Eagles with their allies the Bright Eagles, Night Loins, and Windy Branches to their rear. The Blue Foxes with their cousins the Grey Eagles, White Hares, and Black Seals in opposing positions on the other side of the meadow where their camp was. That night a blizzard struck as it was early winter, and the Blood Wings planned to use it as cover and flank the Blue Foxes. In doing so, as they went the blizzard grew stronger and vision was impossible. They pushed on but couldn't and made makeshift camp in the fridged weather. For two days, they maintained the position within the trees where the blizzard had stopped them with little food and no fire to give away their position. On the third day, the storm had weakened to a light snowfall, and scouts were sent to figure out their position and that of the Blue Foxes. The Blood Wings had flanked them to behind their right flank but not the rear and the Blue Foxes were preparing for battle.

The Blue Foxes formed up in the meadow to prepare for battle. The Blood Wings did the same in the right flank covered by the trees. When the Blue Foxes and their cousins moved forward towards the Bright Eagles, Night Loins, and Windy Branches; the Blood Wings came out of the trees in silence. With the spears level and bows at the ready. They were not noticed until they screamed and charged into the right flank. The clash with bloody and without mercy upon those that charged. In the end, of the near four hundred Blood Eagles that performed the flanking move, only around 360 made the charge as the blizzard claim many lives, and the charge into the Blue Fox right flank claimed near all of the Blood Wings as they didn't give ground in their weakened state from exposure. Thirty-seven Blood Wings survived the charged and their survival is credited to the Windy Branches horse warrioress seeing the charge and charging at full gallop into the fry as the Bright Eagles and Night Eagles unleashed their archers and marched in. The battle was over before the Bright Eagles and Night Eagles reached it. The Blue Foxes and their cousins were in full retreat.

In the coming months, the Blood Wings recouped and were making plans to recruit as they had from nearby tribes. A messenger came into Cloudforest with the word from the Mortal Voice of Dre'Ana to make their way to Myleah. The thirty-seven women obeyed the command and marched out of Cloudforest to Myleah. Where they were welcomed and greeted with praise and commitment to the message of Dre'Ana; thus made the Mortal Voice's personal guard. The women never returned to Cloudforest or fought on the borders again.
