Creature Name: Pack Mule

Observations by: Deider of Pelar

Creature Type: Animal ((2032))

Creature Subtype: Equine

CTS trainable: Yes (compatible with CTS).

Introduction

A mule is the offspring of a male donkey and a female horse. They are often thought to be a good combination of the traits of their parents; mules are usually more patient, hardy and long-lived than horses, and less obstinate and more intelligent than donkeys. Mules themselves are sterile.

Feeding Habits

Mules are herbivores like their parent species, and usually eat grasses and grains.

Disposition and Social Habits

Mules do not form herds and are more solitary and independent like their donkey parent.

Habitat

There are no wild mules; they are always the offspring of a forced mating of a horse and a donkey by humanoids. They are often kept by Romini.

Fylgia

Most compatible: Dire Boar

  • Like dire boars, mules are hooved animals and are strong for their size.

Other notes

It is thought that the first mules were bred by the Romini, who brought horses from the plains of The Kurathene Empire south to what is now M'Chek to found the city of Mikona. During this time the Romini encountered donkeys for the first time, and bred them with horses to create a useful beast of burden. Mules are usually stronger than horses of the same size while being less stubborn than donkeys.
