The House Merenasi is a large house consisting of several branches who each have their own heraldry, properties, and estates, although closely interconnected by marriages. This is, because the House Merenasi was formed just after the end of the last Tri-Fief war, when several rich farmers wanted more official political power in the new system, and agreed to form the House Merenasi.

Recently two main branches formed, and almost split the House in half: The Blackfist branch which supported Chancellor Bartholomeus "Blackfist" Merenasi in his almost draconian rulership, and the Merenasi branch which supported the Thrardoldich and Cattone families in trying to bring down Bartholomeus as Chancellor.

With the disappearance of Krator Blackfist and the death of Bartholomeus Jr, the breach was sealed. However, no clear leader has yet emerged from the chaos, and with the returned Krator taking up the job of Chancellor, there has been no Duke of Halvia for a long time.
