thump... ...
thump... ... ...
thump ... ... ... ...

Your eyes open at a strange sound
Laying on your back with darkness all around
You hear it again like damp thump in the night
Yet even with your eyes open you have not a sight

thump... ...
thump... ... ...
thump ... ... ... ...

As you attempt to sit up and reach for some light
Your head bumps hard on something... This cannot be right?
In a panic you move your arms you reach out above!
You find a wall of wood immobile no matter how much you shove!

thump... ...
thump... ... ...
thump ... ... ... ...

In a frenzy you thrash with your legs from side to side
But to no avail - You find your prison just over two feet wide
And through all this you still hear the dull damp thuds
Now you realize that you're listening to someone shovel mud

thump... ...
thump... ... ...
thump ... ... ... ...

Fearing for your life you scream out in fear
Yet nobody answers as your eyes begin to tear
Soon you relax thinking this must all be a dream
And there is no way this can be possible as it seems

thump... ...
thump... ... ...
thump ... ... ... ...

Strangely enough the sound grows weaker as time passes by
Soon only the sound of your breath remains... And you ask: Why?
You wonder... How did this happen? Is it really only a nightmare?
But as the air grows closer, only darkness meets your stare

The horror of what has become grips you like a cold winter
You beat with your hands and the wood begins to splinter
Soon blood is running down your hands like small tokens
And your once lovely hands are now twisted and broken

Fear takes over you kick with your feet and bash with you legs
Broken an bleeding you thrash... Calling to the gods you beg
You scream a scream so raw so full for what seems hours on end
Fear takes over complete and you lose the ability to comprehend

You gasp for breath as your air begins to give out
You will die alone here in the ground, without a doubt
In weakness you close your sightless eyes and let the blood run
You hear a harp play... Your time on this plane in now over and done.
