Now, mind, each dragon and rider should be capable of melee and ranged combat if required, but it would be foolhardy to not shade more toward your strengths; this would also allow natural rally-points. Naturally, in large formation all fly together, but when battle splits ... groups will likely end up splitting down these lines as they take to their most efficient mode of combat. In the future, groups split as mixes of all may be considered ... but for now they will try this ... more than half of those present, being melee leaning, will find themselves split between the Warmaster and Cole, while MJ is set with the archers and scouts. The loosely defined 'skirmishers' or those who can do either at need will see Princess Naia and Thaylis amongst them.

For ease of communications in the midst of the chaos that is aerial warfare, the Champion also looks to designate specific 'flights' amongst them, depending on their specialty.
New page

{{Book}}

Above the Keep - By Lorelai Silvermoon Volume 1

Kraa-Thoom. The sound echoes, the smallest roll of thunder reverberating in the outskirts, the white walls of the fey city short in the distance. The haft held snugly against his body, spear-point hammering home, the Champion decimates the target as the mighty Gold corkscrews through the bottom of its dive, sun's rays glinting off his scales in spectacle. An alternating flutter of wings sees the duo righted to gravity, another procession of strong beats seeing them once more to an altitude ... circling around in turn for another go ... the main flight of dragons continuing appropriate drilling, as Thaylis is set to roam the sky for his first flights alone ...

During time of rest and discussion, at training's midpoint ... Cole discusses a move toward more formation work during the second half for the day, and during that stretch he would see Thaylis and Skyla take a place. Now being as good a day as any to begin building a sync with the others ... training in archery and air combat will be slowly added in as the days progress ...

For ease of communications in the midst of the chaos that is aerial warfare, the Champion also looks to designate specific 'flights' amongst them, depending on their specialty. Now, mind, each dragon and rider should be capable of melee and ranged combat if required, but it would be foolhardy to not shade more toward your strengths; this would also allow natural rally-points.
