	Solveig was born in the southern reaches of Tyedu not far from what is today the Cytherian border. When pressed on the subject she is usually unable to give her exact date of birth due to the much different way in which her clan kept track of time. Her parents, Aniu and Ulfred, were of relatively respected standing in the clan - the name of which is difficult to directly translate to Common, but means something like “The Sky-Watchers”. Unlike some of the more warlike clans, hers was known primarily for being heavily steeped in mysticism and ritual particularly concerning stars and the heavens. Solveig has never uttered the name of her clan’s spirit-goddess to any outsider, but describes her as female and taking the form of a great white she-bear with eyes like fields of stars. The clan was known for producing expert trackers and navigators with a deep, intimate knowledge of the barren Tyeduan landscape that often astonished outsiders. Despite not being as openly bloodthirsty as some other clans, warriors were an integral part of the clan. Warriors strove to muster the fury of the great white bears that were their patron’s favored totem.
