While 'on the job' a pack bear looks more to its keeper for companionship, enjoying being talked to or fed treats while working. Most pack bears are trained to return to their 'home' pen upon release from a job, although there have been on occasion ones that just wait around the area they were released until they are either rescued or they pass away. Once trained as a pack bear it is very rare for a bear to go feral or return to the wild, This may have to so with their dependency on people while being raised or due to wild bears rejecting them due to the scent of people on them.
