It is as if the two opposed elements conflict inside of him constantly. This emotional exterior, however, hides a keen intellect and profound wisdom. Kamakuro uses these faculties to set forth a vision for pathomancy and its spread throughout Avlis and the planes of existence.

			His acquaintance with conflict makes it a friend to him. Kazi Kamakuro is never wasteful or suicidal, but he sees the use of conflict to push a system and manipulate it. His brash exterior hides broad systemic thinking, and it is this faculty that earned him his position as Grand Master of The Order of The Fiery Winds.

			The discovery of Silver Pathomancy was a momentous event in Kamakuro’s life. With a group of adventurers, including his only friend, Master Udoshinze Matoki of The Order of The Wooden Song, Kazi Kamakuro was instrumental in uncovering the secrets of the new source for pathomantic magic. Though he does not draw power as a Silver Pathomancer himself, Kamakuro understands its importance and works hard to recruit students into his order to help spread the new version of the art.

			===Kenzo Kinzute=== – Known for his cocksure and brash demeanor, Kenzo Kinzute is a powerful human Silver Pathomancer that leads The Order of The Metallic Edge. His meteoric rise to the top of the order happened when he played a large role in securing the first pieces of knowledge of Silver Pathomancy, along with a party of brave adventurers including his colleagues Kazi Kamakuro and Udoshinze Matoki. In his early life, Kinzute was a samurai in the service of the Kinzoku family who mastered the art of the sword. Any magical talent he possessed was unknown to him. The original events surrounding the discovery of Silver Pathomancy required his skills as a kensai (i.e. sword saint), but over the course of the trials and ordeals faced by the group, he gained understanding of how his ability to focus ki translated well into wielding the power of The Transitive River. Under the tutelage of Kamakuro and Matoki during those adventures, Kinzute was a quick study.

			Various members of The Five Rivers community regard Kinzute as an “impure” practitioner since he did not devote his entire early life to the study of magic. Tensions of this nature especially arise within The Order of The Metallic Edge from rivals that wish to see him replaced. The support Kinzute receives from Matoki and Kamakuro also periodically enflames Kinzute’s detractors, who see their influence as meddling. To date, no effort to depose him has succeeded. Like the element of metal, Kinzute has the astute foresight to disable attacks against him before they occur, political or otherwise. He is careful not to let his haughty and sometimes condescending nature cloud his judgement or cause him to underestimate his foes.

			===Miz Kencho=== – The mysterious Miz Kencho is a being of aquatic ancestry and a Light Pathomancer who leads The Order of The Cleansing Rains as its Grand Master. Most assume that his ancestry is from spirit folk of the water, perhaps even crossed with some other far off race, and this gives him the ability to naturally breath both water and air. For a period before joining The Five Rivers, Kencho wandered Avlis and spent much of his time visiting the cities and settlements of the aquatic races. His experience with these cultures has made him a key player in the effort to spread the art of Pathomancy beneath the waves.

			As a leader, Miz Kencho is often absent from Mizugakuin fortress and sees fit to allow his underlings to run affairs. He spends most of this time cavorting with the various cities and settlements on the ocean floor and in the rivers throughout Khanjar Kuro and Negaria. While this behavior gives the impression of a flighty nature, Kencho’s travels have gained him much wisdom, and whenever he is truly concerned that a situation might negatively affect The Order of The Cleansing Rains, he never fails to take the reins and steer everything back to rights. The other orders of The Five Rivers rarely understand his methods, but to the members of The Order of The Cleansing Rains who have his same elemental outlook and affinity to water, it is perfectly natural.

			===Udoshinze Matoki=== – As the Grand Master of The Order of The Wooden Song, pathomancers that are aligned with the element of wood look to the korobokuro Udoshinze Matoki as a spiritual guide and teacher. His popularity in the order has not been without a price. He originally began his time with the order as an underling to the old Grand Master, Hitoshi Shuto, a Shadow Pathomancer like himself, but the rumored discovery of a new type of pathomancy derived from the Astral Plane drew him away from Master Shuto and the affairs of the local Shulin family. The order shunned him for his desire to wander far and wide seeking information on this new source of power because of what Matoki saw as selfish dedication to a tiny portion of Khanjar Kuro.

			Through a series of trials and adventures, Udoshinze Matoki helped a group of intrepid and fatally curious pathomancers and their friends unravel the mysteries of Silver Pathomancy. His journeys took him across the water to the continent of Negaria and even below the surface to The Underdark. Some say he went beyond that to other planes as well. Upon returning, Matoki was changed. His outlook on the world broadened and became markedly less selfish, and his magic changed from Shadow Pathomancy to Silver Pathomancy as a response.

			Due to his experience with the wider world and his ability to see all sides of an argument, Udoshinze Matoki achieved the flexibility of wood and epitomized its toughness and efficiency. He was installed as the next head of the order after the death of his old master.
