Correction: The fast creatures I was referring to in the prior comment are actually immune to the spell; they have construct traits I assume. Still, the spell effects are slow to manifest. It can take up to a round in laggy conditions.
 
Interestingly, the spell does Magical damage, despite being a Necromancy-school spell. This is useful, as immunity or resistance to Magical damage is seldom encountered. It is also one of the few area-effect damage spells that requires a Fortitude save, and not a Reflex save. Great against sneaky bastards.
