Public Profile
Appearance
Miriel Hana, at a time Miriel Hana Xilo'rulithii, is a familiar figure in Visimontium from the early days of the Holy City of Andrinor - the middle of the XXIInd century after the Age of Peace. She still is very young for an elf, keeping her hair cut short in a boyish manner. Once silver, her hair has now turned mostly white, as a bitter counterpoint of her youth. Of late, she has been known to dye it a quaint shade of metalic rose red.
Miriel is skinny and unusually pale, if quick to blush. Those who chance a glimpse at her bare skin at night can see it gleam in the moonlight as if mother-of-pearl. Her delicate teeth, snow white, appear to be unnaturally sharpened. Miriel's face usually bears an expresionless mask, even in her most emotional moments. Her argentine eyes display hues of ice and steel, sharpened further by her intense stare.
Strong as her presence might be, Miriel has a reputation for her ability to approach quietly, often remaining completely unnoticed until such time that she chooses to step in the foreground. Despite the impression of frailty about her body, she can surprise the onlookers with lightning fast reflexes, physical versatility and endurance. The petite woman can take a punishment but something in her slight frame suggests that she might just as well deliver it.
Miriel walks the streets of Visimontium wearing the light red and black uniform of a Sentinel officer. She might also be spotted in the pristine robe of a Magus of the White Order of the Light. Apart from this formal attire, her wardrobe includes elegant, if austere cuts of clothing of her own making. When the occassion demands a more formal approach, Miriel wears pearls. At almost all times a faint scent of wintermint follows her.
Miriel has preserved one element from her more frivolous fashion past, that being her collection of boots. They are of varying heel height, making it tricky to pinpoint her actual stature at a glance. She appears to be 4'10" or less at about 90 lbs; notably smaller than the average elven female. This is emphasised all the more by her imposing staff wrought of dark steel and onyx, topped with a crystal skull head.
Miriel is seen wearing the holy periapt of Andrinor openedly; That or a modest silver necklace adourned by a small bright ruby which she appears to be unusually fond of. A scar crosses her left hand's palm inside, acting as the dividing line for the stylized image of Ra-Ghul's masked face inked therein. The palm of her right hand bears a replica of Andrinor's Mark, usually found on a Trust mage's right shoulder.
Miriel's voice is a light alto, prone to a soft rasp which quickly becomes a croak in the rare case when she speaks aloud. As of present day, she uses solely gestures and no words to cast spells. Her movements while spellcasting are somewhat restrained, forceful, carried out with painstaking concentration. She is known for her use of a melodious semblance to the Drangonari language.
Those who can recognise it may also be able to discern her origin, as Miriel visibly differs from most Avlissian elves.

Personal Life
Miriel's Journal & Letters
Familiars
Lomion - affectionally nicknamed Lome - is Miriel's first (and also current) companion, a diminutive fruit bat, also known as "library bat". This otherwise docile animal has become infamous for an unhealthy inclination towards sugary foods and beverages, causing it to fly amok.
Avernus is Miriel's companion in the early 2160s. The imp has since been discharged and returned to Baator with a letter of recommendation by his mistress, in spite of (or maybe thanks to?) his cowardly attitude and vulgar language.
Family and Friends
Aria Ashby - Aria encounters Miriel during her travels around the earthbergs of Hala in the plane of Ysgard. Miriel joins her on Aria's journey home (Elysia, Avlis) in the winter of 2148, and remains on Avlis to this very day. Their affiliations keep them far apart more often than not, although distance hardly matters between true friends.
Tericky Bendt (Deceased) and Ere'n'dhl El'eash'al (Deceased) - In the sunset of their lives, the mage of the Ashen Order Tericky, and the Healer Ere'n'dhl have been the people remaining mostly close to Miriel in tumultous times. To this very day she speaks their names with reverence.
Imoth - Miriel meets Imoth during her first months on Avlis, around the Ashen Order tower in Elysia. Imoth has kept Miriel under her wing ever since, often calling her "dottir". Miriel returns the favour by refering to Imoth as to her step-mother, obviously tongue in cheek but in good will.
Ialath Fentellon - Ialath and Miriel arrive in Visimontium while the city is still being built, as senior mage and apprentice of the Ashen Order of the Stars. Often they speak in one voice, showing unique alikeness of mind, even after their lifepaths take radically different directions. They share "The Retreat", a house in the Academy District of Visimontium - just across "Truely Sweets".
Aerill Ailpera and Fealith Anifail - To Miriel, the two are not merely her commanders within the Visimontium Sentinels. She accepts their advice and guidance as if from family elders, and often can be found around them in casual conversation.
Aman'dul Xilo'rulithii, Aurelinis'liandu Xilo'rulithii and Orostau Nilnoste - Xilo'rulithii - Miriel and Amand Xilo spend two decades as husband and wife, from 2163 until Amand's presumed death in 2185. She accepts Amand's brother Aurelinis and his second wife as close family.
Vanar Alhaldren and Selash - Vanar and Selash are Miriel's first and second Sentinel apprentices, respectively. Between Vanar's calm, collected wisdom, and Selash's reluctance at taking orders, Miriel's sharp tongue is often tied. Through the trial of wars and disasters, they have stuck together.
Sable and Shadow - For many years Miriel is tentatively tolerated amongst the Fury of Ra-Ghul as Whisper's blood sister, yet the shamaness Sable and the warrior Shadow take one step further and accept her as a close friend as well. This tie has not weakened, even after Miriel's presence causes enmity amongst the Fury and Whisper severs the blood bond.
Tralil Breck and El'gos Longstride - Miriel would mostly mention those two Ivory Order magi as her mentors in Fatespinning. Both Tralil and El'gos however address Miriel as "ooktan" (Nanshilae for "sister"), and treat her as such.
Delaroweil Hend - What begins as an acquintanceship between a student and a master arcanist of the Blue Order of the Sky, blossoms into a starlit path: One to be walked by a Moon Elf and a Half-Fey.
Gotthardt Staahl - Few can tell what was the actual cause for Miriel and Amand Xilo to separate for a few years late into their marriage, but those who recall these events may also recall the name of Dominator Gotthardt Staahl, at the time Provost Marshal of M'Chek.
For his aspirations to the Ebony Archmage's spouse of all people, Dominator Staahl pays a price: He is exiled twice from the south and eventually fails to keep Miriel away from the man whose family name she has taken as her own, refusing to relinquish his shadow.
Kate Benneset (K'Tomma) - Miriel can often be seen in the company of the "ice witch" whenever she visits Mikona. The two have met in their widowed years and appear to be close friends. Miriel looks up to Kate as to the older and more experienced woman she can learn from.
Anomandaari and Ath'nook Nekk'en - Four individuals get together around the beginning of the XXIIIrd century after the Age of Peace. The four are Miriel and three seekers of knowledge and enlightenment:
Anomandaari - The Philosopher, also known as The Pilgrim or Dust, whom Miriel calls "Haloisi" in her native tongue; Ath'nook Nekk'en - The Red Warrior, a Githzerai hunter also known as The Red One or The Crimson; Hebrin Maul - The Grandmaster of the monk Order of the Dragon, also known as The Maul, whom The Philosopher calls "The Sitting Dragon"; and Miriel herself - The Sage, also called "Little Willow" by The Philosopher, and "The Unmasked One" by The Red Warrior.
Hebrin Maul - After a series of tragic events at the Blandenberg Orphanage, Miriel takes 14-years-old Helene Stillwater as her apprentice in the Arcane Arts in the spring of 2206. She takes care of Helene until Helene's coming of age, alongside with Hebrin who is romantically involved with Miriel at the time.
Together, they make a name as a cosmopolitan couple of scholars. Miriel and Hebrin get married in 2224 and establish the Visimontium Orphanage in 2225. However, the turmoil following the revelations about the Stillwater family and the griveous consequences cause Miriel to drift away from what she refers to as "the greatest thirty years of my life".
Vesdrac Noss'tau - For many years Miriel openly associates with the Ebony Transmutant and has refered to him as to the only one she trusts as much as Amand Xilo, her late husband. In present time, after the birth of Vesdrac and Helene's children, she is no longer seen in their company; all the more after Miriel publically reveals Vesdrac Noss'tau to be Amand Xilo himself and is assaulted by him soon after, with Helene's blessing.
Arania Moonshadow - Upon a prolonged absence from the southernlands, the famous bard of Ferrell is in for a surprise. The insecure elven girl she knows Miriel to be is now a grown woman, who quickly reaches out to Arania as to a trustworthy partner in the games of life.
Eudaimon Dawnblade is the mysterious young psion scholar who names Miriel his spouse as of 2231. The two meet yet at the turn of the century, when Miriel is engaged to Hebrin and preoccupied with Helene's upbringing. Years pass and the wicked games between gods and mortals bring Miriel and Eudaimon closer together, even if Miriel is known to have shunned Eudaimon's affection for over a decade.
