What the DM Event Team usually means by FOIG:
Read an in character wiki article or in game book.
Ask a fellow character while in game.
Make an in character post on the forums asking the exact same question only in character instead of out of character.
Follow up via Private or Direct Message with the DM in charge of the plot if it's plot specific.
Follow up via PM with the Event DM team as a whole if the DM is unknown or if it is not about an active plot.
Complete an in game quest.
Schedule an in character study group at a relevant-to-the-topic organization or location and inite others to research with you.
