Introduction
About the size of a domestic cat, males are usually larger then females. Their fur changes from season to season. Fishers have five toes on each foot with retractable claws. Their large feet make it easy for them to move across snow. They can rotate their hind ankles almost all the way round meaning they are very good at climbing and defending trees. They prefer to come down head first.
Feeding Habits
They are meat eaters. Primarily hunting hares and porcupines, but will also hunt birds and other small animals. They will also supplement their diets with berries, nuts, insects, mushrooms and carrion. They can also occasionally kill wild turkey, lynxes and bobcats. but despite their common name they do not actually seek out and eat fish. The name seems to derive from an old language that meant a polecat.
Disposition and Social Habits
Fishers are solitary.
Habitat
The only ones I know ware in Gertrie forest.
Fylgia
Most compatible: Dire Badger
- This is a relative of the badger and the weasel.
Other notes
The Gertire fisher and the weasel are very closely related and the wisdom they teach us is very much the same, teaching us to find ways to negotiate through difficult, tight conditions.
