PCs:Blake Benneset
Blake Benneset
Race: Human (M'chekian)
Place of Origin: M'chek, Mikona, Noble District, House of Benneset.
History: Blake is the second youngest child of Nicolo, head of the ancient but declining noble house of Benneset. Eighth in line of succession, he is unlikely to ever enter politics. He has recently been apprenticed to an alchemist to earn his keep, a requirement in his now financially troubled home. Hard work is alien to him, having grown up with few responsibilities, and he has taken to partying, traveling, and other extravagant means of escape. At the urging of two of his older brothers, he studies fencing as a means of self-defense. He has learned the two-handed fencing style traditionally practiced by his family, and prefers to wear light or no armor for better freedom of movement. A loyal citizen of Mikona, he attends services at the Temple of Mikon.
Motivation: On the floor of Mikona's Noble House, few know the name Benneset outside of family friends. Even among the family itself, Blake can hardly get the attention he craves. Secretly he schemes for a way to achieve notoriety, an alternate identity that would protect his family honor. He is driven by compulsions of theft that he can scarcely control at times. Unrealistically, he daydreams of stealing enough to restore his family's wealth and power. The greatest thrill he can ever remember was stealing a trinket from a Mikona market stall, on a dare from a childhood friend. He tries to recreate that rush again and again, in dangerous nocturnal outings, and impulsive grabs at strangers' coin purses. At times, he's revolted by what he sees himself becoming, and he could never steal from someone he knew (unless has saw it as revenge).
