The Beasts I've Seen
by Brant Risko
Let me tell you a short little tale
Of many things I've seen
Beasts and monsters of all kinds
And all of them quite mean
First I saw beetles, bigger than me
And some of them spit fire
Not so tough, but watch their big brothers
Best not to draw their ire
My feet get caught in spiders webs
I'm stuck right to the ground
I try to move, but no success
Hope there's no more around
Big slimy things, how can they move
That stuff gets in my clothes
It's green and wet, and slimy too
I wonder where it grows
Those big black cats, they bounce around
Appear and disappear
They're hard to see, but lucky for me
They're not too hard to hear
Watch out for ogres, giants, and trolls
Dangerous, scary things
They're three times as tall as a fella like me
I try to duck when they swing
These are a few of the beasts that I've seen
Wandering through the land
To tell you of creatures more fierce than these
I'm sure I'd need a whole band!
