Winter Wolf
"Winter Wolf"
Chance encounter
During my travels throughout North Western T'Nanshi I noticed an abundance of wild animals. One in particular was of great interest to me, obviously a canine by nature and wolf like features. It was much smaller than it's cousin the Dire Wolf and looked to weigh approximately 80 pounds. It's coat, thick and soft was a frosty shade of white that almost appeared to have a light shade of blue in it. The creature was aggressive initially and obviously did not appreciate the nearby Titanian Nymphs and Champions of Oma. Luckily I managed to calm it and save it from sure death. I was able keep the creature calm for some time and managed to build quite a rapport with it, but after about six hours the creature became aggressive again and I had to flee. At this stage I had not tried to form a bond between my Fylgia and the Wolf. I will look this, but I wish to study other aspects of the creature first.
The Beast Is Magical!!
I have returned to the place where I found the "Winter Wolf" and once again there seemed to a be an altercation between it and some Titanian Nymphs and Champions of Oma. The wolf had company this time, some Grizzly Bears and Dire Wolves possibly competing for prey. The wolf didn't appear to be all that strong and was easily overwhelmed by it's adversaries. Just moments before I decided to calm it and prevent it's iminent death the Wolf did something I could not explain.
It seemed the Wolf had breath as cold as ice. I am sure that if it were not for my personal protective equipment, I would have been snap frozen on the spot. The creature's coat is unique and probably protects it from it's own breath. I should do what I can to prevent poachers from discovering this! I fear Dru'El knows what would happen to this species should they exploit this! This discovery makes me even more determined to try to bond with this creature.
There is Something Odd About this Creature
Finally I have attempted to form a bond with the Winter Wolf. My efforts seemed futile as the creature did not respond to me at all. Perhaps this creature is stronger than I thought, an "Iron Integrity" so to speak. I am not sure if this is related to the creatures magical properties or not. Perhaps if I try to coerce the creature with some of it's favourite food or prey, but in doing so I will need to research the creatures habits some more. It's time to spend a few nights in the shadows observing I think.
Observations from the Shadows
I have returned from the Wilds of North Western T'Nanshi, where I spent three nights observing my subject from the shadows. It seems Winter Wolves are solitary creatures in that there are rarely more than one in the same vicinity. I have observed the Wolf feeding on small vermin, small critters and occasionally herbs. There seemed to be alot of competition for prey between the Winter Wolf and other larger Cats, Wolves and Bears. I Imagine this is the reason there are so few Winter Wolves to be found in the Wilds of T'Nanshi, and that they may be endangered here. I will speak to the Sanctuary caretakers in Le'OrT'Nanshi about the possibility of a breeding program.
Conclusion
I am happy with what I have learnt about this creature. I have made progress in building a rapport with it and interacting with it. I will continue to try to form a spiritual bond with the Winter Wolf and I am sure that soon I will be successful in doing so. There will always remain to be "something odd about this creature."
