My Goat Grudge!
By Frannie Mouze
Let’s all give thanks and praise,
As we gather at the docks this day
For safe passage on the seas,
Toss in offerings if you will please
The festival of Ingoren happens each year
Folks from all over sing and cheer
Dink an ale, join the fun
Today we sail, we don’t run
Landry preached, and a dark mage
Tied himself to a tree, maybe out of rage?
Captain Karlon gathered a crew
Who boarded his ship, to sail the deep blue
Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me-e-ee
I tried to persuade the mage tied to a tree
He looked horrified, even aghast
To leave the land, and set sail at last
His eyes got all big, and he murmured a word—
Then he got all firey, and behind the flames he blurred
BOOM! SIZZLE! KABLAM!
He exploded, I’m so so sorry ma’am!
Make sure folks get mended
Board the boat, a hand was lended
On the high seas we set sail
To honor Ingoren, to not fail
Landry said, “we’re at sea”
“Don’t you feel quite at ease?”
Whose boat is this?… where are we headed?
To find treasure on the lost isle where it’s embedded
The famed treasure of Captain Barbelly will be ours
If we can find it, we sailed for what seems hours!
Snacks and drinks, ropes and knots, and to up the ante
We even sang a sea shanty!
Way, hay up she rises,
Way, hay up she rises,
Early in the morning!
What will we do with the drunken sailor?
What will we do with the drunken sailor?
Early in the mornin!
Finally ahead! Land ahoy
Everyone is giddy like school boys
Treasure awaits
So does our fate
Follow the trail, follow the gold
Dread pirates and sea dogs, are sights to behold
Landry hid round the corner from each new fight
Never hitting, staying just out of sight!
Each battle was fierce
And I learned how to curse
Like a pirate in a cave
The echo’s are amaze!
Found the treasure, it was grand
What….. water rising, it’s as high as my hands!
Out to sea with the wave and oh boy did I pray
But I washed up on land, and was safe that day
The treasure made it safe and sound
Congrats were had all around
Landry got my goat… cute little statuette
I’ll get it one day, I won’t forget
