Introduction

Feeding Habits

Wolves hunt deer mainly but will also consume any creature that presents itself it the wolf is hungry they will also supplement their diet with berries, including nightshade as well as apples and pears. The wolf must have taught Pelar how to hunt. First is locating their prey by scent or tracking. Then comes the stalk where they attempt to get as close to their prey as they can. The encounter, once the prey detects the wolves, it can attack, stand its ground or flee. The wolves prefer it to flee. If it stands its ground they often wait or loose interest. The rush, if the prey flees, the wolves give chase preferring to bring down the prey from behind. The chase, if the prey is not brought down in the rush, then wolves will pursue hoping to wear it down, often trying to drive it into bad footing to slow it down.

Disposition and Social Habits

The basic wolf pack consists of a mated pair and their off-spring. This means one or two adults, three to six juveniles and one - three yearlings. Packs may temporarily join forces on good hunting grounds but are generally highly territorial.
