SCHOOL OF DIVINATION
To the uninformed, the Art of Divination is often dismissed as nothing more than Romini fortune telling.
However, it is actually a very interesting art, allowing the caster to move his conciousness into the future. In doing so, the caster gains insight into future events, such as what's around that next corner, or knowing that the ugly half-orc's next attack on you will be with a thrust to the left thus allowing you to dodge to the right.
Of course, there is an obvious problem with seeing into the future. Which is that if you take actions on it, then the future will end up not quite as you originally envisaged it. Thus the divination is always a little fuzzy, and has to be interpreted carefully.
Some scholars take advantage of this "future seeing" for instance when casting the divination spell "Legend Lore". They actually manage to retrieve knowledge from books and tomes that they haven't even read yet! Of course, logic would dictate that they have to read the book at some point in the future, although it is a little uncertain what happens if they don't.
However thinking too much about such problems has sent many a mage to early insanity, and is best avoided.
