HISTORY OF MORTAL MAGIC, VOLUME THREE - THE TOWER OF NINE
The Tower of Nine was built after the establishment of the Fold of Nine 2400 years ago from today. This period was before the Great War. Thus, it was a joint effort of all nine order of the Fold of Nine.
It was built in order for the Fold of Nine to work in cooperation in the regulation of the arcane arts in their respective countries and churches. This tower housed the main offices of the Fold of Nine, as well as a large hall for annual conferences of the Fold of Nine. It was an occasion that was shared by all the mages throughout the World of Avlis, trying to better themselves in the art of the arcane.
The Tower of Nine was built in LeOr. The Fold of Nine chose the city of LeOr because it was one of the oldest cities of that time, and the fact that it was a mid-way point in the continent of Avlis, both North and South, as well as East and West. The structure itself came out of the root of the trees in LeOr. The tower was a hallow tree trunk in the capitol district of LeOr. Remnants of this building is still there. It is rumored that the new Green Order of Froest will use this structure to construct their own tower.
The Tower of Nine was abandoned due to the fact that the Great War had basically destroyed all of the Gold Order mages. And the strife and strain that was caused by this war were one of the reasons that the mages of these orders abandoned the Fold of Nine and the tower.
However, even with the disappearance of the Gold Order, the rest of the Eight Orders still tried to regulate the arcane arts in Avlis. This continued until an Avlis-Shattering event happened in the year 2000 - Ascension of Andrinor into the God of Mortal Magic.
