HISTORY OF MORTAL MAGIC, VOLUME FIVE - REACTION OF THE FOLD AND THE DARK PERIOD

By this time, the Gold was few in number. Many of them are followers of Valok, human, elves and the like. No Orcs were among them. Immediately after the ascension of Andrinor, shock and confusion ran through the world of Arcane, known as the Fold of Nine. Their reaction to the rise of Andrinor varied.

The White, led by their Archmage at that time, Chert Lanassen, decided that Andrinor was not the person that should be taking control of this Vortex of Mortal Magic, they set out to try to stop him before he does take full control.

The Ebony led by Cyprian, and the Gold (at that time) led by Reyes, decided to join forces and founded the Black, and together, they set out to try to take this control away from Andrinor, and gaining control for themselves.

The Grey, led by their Archmage at that time, Apara, also followed suit. Knowing that if either of the White or the Ebony gained a piece of this Vortex, the world of Arcane would be very unbalanced.

The Silver, Green, Blue, Yellow, and Violet, did not decide to go after Andrinor, thus, they simply went into hiding, fearing the wrath of Andrinor once he found out that the other four orders are going after him.

The White, Grey, and the newly formed Black, met on the way. A skirmish broke out which ended in stalemate. Apara, for the sake of balance of these remnant of mages, was the perfect fence sitter. She and the Grey helped the White when the Black had the upper hand, and helped the Black when the White had the upper hand in this skirmish. Thus, no one could gain a upperhand, and thus, the large scale mage battle ended in a stalemate.

Meanwhile, while they were all fighting among themselves, Andrinor, with the help of Dru'El, learned the way of godhood, and gained a firm control of the Vortex of Mortal Magic.

After realizing what they did by fighting among themselves, which allowed Andrinor ample time to learn the ways of divine, the White and the Grey and the Black also went into hiding. Fearing that Andrinor would find his way to them and destroy them.

During this period, which lasted about 50 years, Andrinor started to alienate a lot of the Mortal Magic Users. Thus, his followers began to dwindle. And just like every other gods of Avlis, when his followers dwindle, his power began to dwindle.

It is at this time, that Andrinor devised a plan that will try to win back the hearts of these Mortal Magic Users. This plan, resulted in the creation of the Vortex of Chaos.
