Raven's Game
By Frannie Mouze
Monsters here, monsters there, monsters everywhere.
Mikona is being assailed, by someone, or so the whispers say,
Raven is her name; destruction is her game, so beware.
She let her creations loose right here,
In the residences, in the docks, every which way
Monsters here, monsters there, monsters everywhere.
We all gathered where the temples are, murmured a little prayer,
we broke off into groups, and set off without delay.
Raven is her name; destruction is her game, so beware.
Biting, thieving constructs – did her bidding there
we found her lair, we found the place, her minions we did slay
Monsters here, monsters there, monsters everywhere.
At the city gates, we met even more, but we did not despair
Arrows flew, swords rang out, ‘twas a very long day
Raven is her name, destruction is her game, so beware.
She shifted into raven form, a giant black bird – circling in the air
Caught off guard by Truth, snagged in the dragons’ claws sans delay
Monsters here, monsters there, monsters everywhere.
Raven is her name; destruction is her game, so beware.
