Redrick's gorge

One of the main gates into Galdos was built at Redrick's Gorge. Originally built near the border with Deglos yet further underground, this city-fort has seen its fair share of war - and resisted every breach attempt thus far. It is a key location for Galdos from a military and supplies standpoint, because of the river trading routes available, the presence of a Galdosian Academy of Mortal Magic branch, as well as tunnels and other trade routes into Deglos. The hydrogenerators located here provide power to a number of other underground cities of Galdos and the underground rivers themselves support both trade routes and fresh water for hundreds of miles.

The other key point of interest about Redrick's Gorge is that it is a key fortress against Underdark invasions. It held against every major attack since the Demonspawn war until 3 AR, when Malekian General Wrecbor the Ruthless is rumored to have temporarily breached the walls of the fort's military facility with the aid of goblin tunnelers. However, some people claim it wasn't the giantess at all, but an unknown third party. Either way, The Order of Gorethar played a key role in the city-fort's defense.

Rumor has it the Hematite Dragon Inhelk'Gra'kul, Guardian of the Depths may have its lair deep underneath Redrick's Gorge and may be a key reason why the defenses against the Underdark hold so well.
