Sonnet 5
by Diziet Est-Vorre
A flagon left unemptied is a shame, One night will dry a flagon of its wine; And if a kiss is offered don't refrain-- To leave a kiss untaken is a crime. Because, my dear, all petals one day fade; Bright colors will, with no man's help grow old; And no man's help can keep old love unfrayed; While time the truest lover will turn cold. But sun and rain are all a flower needs to show its face. The brightest peacock plume will feather on its own. And Dear, the seeds of love take but a passing touch to bloom. So kiss me now! Before my beauty parts, While I am yours, do not restrain your heart--
