Cave Stirge
(Thanks for making a copy. I've commented this out below as it is showing up redundantly and incorrectly in the CTS categories pages --Analgesia 12:25, 13 September 2010 (CDT) )
{{Animal_Companion_Research |Name_of_Creature= Cave Stirge |Companion_Submission_Status= researching |CTS_Code= 1050 |Type_of_Creature= Animal |Subtype_of_Creature= Bird |Author= Seeker |Image= |Most_Compatible_Fylgia= Hawk |Most_Compatible_Notes= The Cave stirge resembles a night hawk with the noticeable difference of the elongated blood-spout. |Least_Compatible_Fylgia= Dire Badger |Least_Compatible_Notes= The badger is almost the opposite of a stirge - it neither drinks blood nor flies particularly well. |Introduction= I have encountered many of these beasts in caves around the boles of Le'Or. They swarm and flock in large numbers. The blood draining bite of the stirge can sap the strength of even the most unpleasant smelling ogre, leaving him barely able to stand or defend. |Feeding_Habits= The stirge seems to feed exclusively on blood. From observation, the more violently blood can be obtained, the greater the feeding frenzy. Wear thick enough armour should you wish to remain hale! |Disposition_Social_Habits= Stirges appear to be social birds - with enough time, the trainer may be accepted as "one of the flock." It would be interesting to see what such a creature could be trainied to do. |Habitat= Caves. That's why we call them Cave Stirges. |Other_Notes= There are other varieties of the stirge - both dire and vanilla; I will keep my eyes peeled for such beasts on my travels. }}
