Tearaskawachle is a settlement at the base of Mount Smokes in Southeastern Deglos. It is considered a mining town and a gateway to the old Thunder Cave mining complex.
History
Thunder Cave has been known to hold veins of gems and ore for centuries. Records dating back to Deglos' inception show that there used to be a settlement near the cave. It had a Dwergan name but when Deglos was formed, the Mining Guild took over administration of the town and it was renamed Tearaskawaschle, which is Ganoom for "Thunder Shield." But the settlement turned out to be too remote to adequately supply and protect, so when Orcs moved into the cave and Giant-Kin overran the settlement, it was abandoned.
Centuries later, the Mining Guild decided they would like to re-establish the settlement, with the aim of eventually reopening the mine. The guild petitioned Deglos' government, the High Guild Convention, and the petition was accepted, with a catch - to prevent history repeating itself, the Mining Guild must employ someone to help build and fortify the settlement.
The High Guild Convention determined that the best candidate for the job was Lachlan Skullcleaver, also known as the Washelgrigh, who had achieved a level of fame due to the recent exploits of his adventuring party, the Golden Legacy. The construction was completed in the 2260s.
