| | Anomandaari,
commonly referred to as Mandaari,
Pilgrim, Philosopher, Dust or - reasons unknown - Ghost. |
Appearance: | Elf, Avlissian. His racial traits are usually clearly visible. He is rather pale for an Avlissian Elf; his shape is more than wiry. Despite his scorn towards Common he rarely speaks Nanshilae, Mandaari's speech being usually more a stream of consciousness than a consistent message - speaking in general is merely a warped reflection of thoughts for him, his mind usually busy with more important things than composing words. Mandaari's voice is rather quiet and lacks any substantial emotional flavouring. Favouring dark colours he usually wears black, sometimes a piece of non-distinctive crimson is added - a ring, a cloak pin etc. Mandaari's face is often veiled by the shade of a hood, the visible part of his jaw marked with a long, straight scar running along his mouth through his cheeks. |
Age: | Undisclosed. Probably in his mid-age. |
Gender: | Male. But with them elves, you just never can tell. |
Class(es): | Monk, Psion. No, not a crafter (or...). His training always carefully balanced, he does not distinguish clearly between the classes, having adopted a philosophy based almost entirely on mental discipline. His both: psionic abilities and mastery of ki are developed to complement each other, possibly influenced by the techniques designed by the Order of the Shadow, Order of the Granite Horn and the Right and Proper Order of the Broken Claw. |
Alignment: | LE... usually. Labelled "a loner", "a lone wolf psion", "a stranger", "a madman" - Mandaari has been struggling to maintain any social bonds for years. With much effort and little success. He has probably given up by now, drifting slowly towards mental solitude. The Underdark has branded its mark upon him as well, too. His sanity has been questioned more than once already, not without a reason.
Planar cosmology aside, he is perceiving the universe as a realm of perfect ideas overlaying their imperfect "worldly reflections". One of the most essential of those ideas are: chains of power ("The strong eat the weak."), chains of command ("The strong govern the weak."), chains of responsibility and liability ("He who acts is to endure reaction.").
Unlike most of Avlissian monks, the Pilgrim has grown to openly negate the doctrine of balance taught by the Order of the Dragon.
Mandaari is attempting to contain his doctrine in a book. However, since he is definitely not a scholar, little progress is to be expected. His sermon, "Path of Dust", is but one step.

Deity: | The'ton. Unlike most of his brethren (and sisters) in faith he's not secretive about his spiritual path - while not openly zealous, he is proud of his faith and he has been identified as a The'tonite more than once. Probably to his own detriment.
Those who know the Dust good enough might have noticed that there is something else, though. A power unknown seems to be haunting him: leading his mind astray, alluring him, summoning. His meditations have turned into sessions of wild trance, causing his mind to wander - to drift aimlessly in search for a place projected into the maddest of his visions. |
Origin: | NE T'Nanshi. A perfect place for a young Nanshi to be captured and enslaved by the Shaahesk. |
Residence: | None. Tired of the "imperfections" of the surface world, his Pilgrimage has led him from the Overlight deep into the Underdark, where he's currently operating from. He is seen mostly there or in the barren M'Chekian wilderness. |
