Personality
Nixiana, or Nixi as she prefers to be called can be everything from callous and cold to sarcastic, to playful, to cute and charming. When she first meets people, she tends to be quiet, taking in details to help her make her mind up about the person. Once she is comfortable, she speaks, often a lot, and will quickly befriend strangers.
History
Born to Elven parents in T'Nanshi, Nixi started life much the way most Nanshin children would. She was introduced to the arts, and magic, and woodlore from a very early age. Her father, being a Pelarite ranger had his ways, which she knew little of, until one day the situation changed, drastically. A group of bandits invaded their home and during the scuffle, her mother was cut by a poisoned blade. She died slowly, over several weeks. Nixi's father stayed at her side the entire time. During this time, his heart hardened and he made some rash decisions. After the death of his wife, he buried her, gathered up a few things for him and his young child, said some prayers over his wife's grave, and burned the house down. He swore never to be that susceptible again. He taught Nixi not to trust people, magic and society. What she really wanted to learn was how to communicate with animals, and hunt, and scout and track. These skills she gleaned a bit from him over time, but she would never have a fyglia, therefore would never bond with an animal. She accepted this lifestyle, being that it was all she knew. For many years, she travelled with her father, hunting, and camping, making a meager living off the land. All the while she was honing her scouting skills since they were useful to their pursuits.
One day, in their travels, they happened upon a band of roving performers. Nixi begged her father to let her watch, and he gave in. After all, he truly loved his daughter and his only goal was her protection. She marvelled at the performers, but two in particular. One, a woman, could perform the most agile movements, with extreme delicacy and precision. She had a grace and balance the likes of which Nixi had never seen. This woman danced with her own shadow, or so it appeared. The shadow moved, mimicing her movements, but seemingly of it's own volition. The other, also a woman, had the ability to disappear at will, only to re-appear seconds later, right in front of Nixi's eyes. Intrigued, she asked her father how they did it. He explained that it was witchcraft, and very dangerous to be around such people. They were not to be trusted. Due to her naievety, she believed what he said to be true. Still, she dreamed of what they did. She felt it call to her somehow. She would speak of it to her father, only to have him chase the dreams away.
One day, she went to him and said she simply has to learn all she can about what she saw. She felt so strongly and believed so highly that her father agreed perhaps she should learn what that was all about. He also told her he refused to help her, she would have to do it on her own. With sad eyes, and a long hug goodbye, she set off on her own, to find out more.
Present Day
Nixi has been seen in various hunting parties across Negaria and Ysgard. She has made many friends along the way. She is still learning the secrets of the shadows, but seems to be getting along quite well. She is training herself to be a scout, something she spent her whole life doing. She has adjusted her attitude and views of the world and has been accepted by Pelar as a Huntress. This has been something she always wanted, but until recently, Pelar would not accept her.
She regularly travels the forests of Avlis, Hala and Arkaz.
