Introduction
Rarely seen, these monstrous creatures are sometimes spotted by inhabitants along the M'Chekian coastline, scavenging for food. Standing well over 5 feet tall and twice that in width, these creatures’ move with incredible speed on land with their 8 segmented legs. They have 2 additional large claws, which serves to grab intended prey for consumption, as well as a defensive tool to intimidate would be attackers. Coloration of this creature is light red or pinkish topside, while the lower half of the body is light colored, general white or beige.
Feeding Habits
Like their smaller cousins, the giant crab is a scavenger and opportunist when is comes to finding food. Dead carcasses of large animals on the sea floor are the main source of its diet, and it is suspected when food is scarce the giant crabs search the shoreline and onto land for meals of opportunity. If live prey is sought, the large claws come into play, rendering the victim incapacitated through intense crushing forces.
Disposition and Social Habits
Little is known about this rare and seldom viewed creature. It can be speculated, based on comparisons to its smaller cousins, that it is a social creature, congregating in large groups on the ocean floor.
Habitat
Seen only along the shorelines, the ocean beds are its main habitat. Viewed occasionally on shore, they rarely stay out of the water for long.
Fylgia
Most compatible: Giant Spider
- Both the crab and the spider move with amazing speed and agility using 8 legs.
Other notes
None listed.
