Who is Taruma?

How does one even begin to piece an answer together? She claims to be a priest (not a priestess?), but have you ever heard her say what God or demon she follows? Why does she wear no holy robes, or colors, or even an amulet of her faith? What kind of God tolerates such irreverence? Why does she never seem to preach, only pester those around her with uncomfortable questions?

Can you trust her stories? She seems to have one for every occasion. How much of it can possibly be true? She prays in Brekesh; she talks about the streets of Malekia; she waltzes like a Kurathene courtier; she claims to have learned that trick in the circus; she reminisces about a husband; she acts as if she's old, but she doesn't look it; she looks like she can barely lift that absurd hammer of hers, but you've seen her swing it like an ogre; she seems equally at peace with paladins and blackguards. Why does she curl her hand like it hurts her? Why is she smiling like she knows something you don't? What is she hiding?

Why is she offering you tea at a time like this?
