Iron Ore

Iron ore is a common rock formation and mineral found throughout Avlis and is the major source of metallic iron. It is formed from pure iron being exposed to the atmosphere and becoming impure. Iron ore is most commonly dark grey, but can be found with other colorations, including rust red. With refining, pure iron can be obtained and then can be fashioned into weapons, armor and other products.
