Characteristics

Pugnus Stout is most clearly defined by his lack of social graces. Often times the things he will say will seem awkward or even just rude, but that is not his intention. Pugnus says what he thinks and asks what he wants to know in a very blunt matter, often leading people to think he views them as a lesser or as a tool for his own understanding. Things that other people think of as common courtesy such as removing a helmet in town, running instead of walking, or stopping to say hello are things that Pugnus simply does not do unless he specifically thinks to do so. All of this is due to his history, not due to selfishness or dislike of other individuals.

Physically Pugnus is one of the sturdiest Dubgaldokins in existence. His body is solid and clearly well conditioned. If you see him without his helm his face is unattractive and clearly worn but does not appear aged or fatigued. As a steadfast worshiper of Toran, Pugnus is never without his Toran holy robes and holy symbol.

Biography

Pugnus knows that he had a life before Shaahesk slavery, but he remembers absolutely nothing about it. In slavery he knew only hard work, pain, and a Dracon who was his only friend. The Dracon never revealed his name, but he showed Pugnus the only thing that kept him from completely losing his will under the cruel conditions of enslavement to the lizard-like race: belief and faith in Toran.

While on patrol with the Shaahesk, being forced to battle their enemies against his will, Pugnus had the good fortune of being merely knocked out by a group of adventurers when the rest of his party was slaughtered. The adventurers brought him back to Elysia where he did his best to learn about life as the goodly races knew it. Though he learned much, the information overload drove him to retreat into meditation on Toran in solitude. Toran has an Order that includes everyone, and Pugnus needed to know where he fit in it. After all, acting outside his designated role in Toran's Order would only promote disorder.

After living in freedom away from civilization for more than one year he has returned to find that not only have the Shaahesk not been defeated, but they are gaining ground and hostility has turned to outright war. Once afraid of his ex-captors, he has grown strong and his desire to drive them away is second only to his desire to always act according to Toran's Order. The Shaahesk are a threat not only to Toran's Order but to the order of all humanoid lifestyles as they take slaves wherever they desire. Their invasion of the nations disturbs the balance of civilization itself. This cannot be tolerated.
