Creature Type: Vermin

Creature Subtype: Arachnid

CTS trainable: Yes (compatible with CTS).

Introduction

You would easily be mistaken into thinking that a Bullet Spider is in fact a Sword Spider. They are almost identical to look at, but their behavior patterns are significantly different from their Sword Spider cousins. Like the Iron Sword Spider, they have developed a method of spitting stomach acid at their prey. However, they have learned to specialise in their ability to spit acid and rather than spit a few globs to soften up their prey (it helps with the digestion), they will continue spitting from a safe distance until their next meal is well and truely done! Observing the projectiles in mid flight is like watching a slingshot constantly being loosed. They are extremely accurate at range.

Feeding Habits

Bullet spiders prefer to pick off victims from a distance, before closing in to feed in safety.

Disposition and Social Habits

Using the powers granted to me, I have been able to summon a Bullet Spider to my side. While I have been unable to find a complete nest, I suspect they are similar in their social habits to other spiders I have encountered. In particular, I note that most giant spiders (unlike their mundane cousins) seek to gain the advantage of numbers. They really are quite cunning and will swarm if given the chance. I dread to think what a group of swarming Bullet Spiders would be like. The bullets really would start flying!

Habitat

Anywhere you can find giant spiders is a likely candidate for these creatures to live and breed. Deep forests, old ruins, underground lairs (caves, sewers and such like).

Fylgia

Most compatible: Giant Spider

  • It's a giant spider!

Other notes

I am excited by the possibilities that these marvels could accomplish with a little training. It may even be possible to manipulate their acid spitting skills to take on new forms. Ghastly as it seems, it would be a great defence mechanism if they could be taught to 'spew' acid in a cone.
