Fair'ri and Thorfinn

"We go to pull Eristhinalus down from the sky. Will you join us in the air?" Fair'ri asks in her almost musical double-chimed voice.

"Fen" A simple reply from the Warmaster.

With that, Fair'ri, the large Silver dragon, lowers her large shimmering head. Thorfinn climbs her carefully, straddling the curve of her neck and back, then planting himself securely between the armored ridge spikes that line her back. To his left, Terra Swift climbs aboard the massive dragon Thalonis. To his right, Raine secures herself atop Lymonious, readying her bow. Below, Fletcher slips into the shadow of the copper dragon, Gek'katoia, and appears an instant later mounted on the copper's back... "he's such a cheater" whispers Finn to Fair'ri. Despite the splatter of blood and Shaahesk across his face, he finds a moment to smile.

Thorfinn pulls his battered helmet down and with a nod to the other three, silver wings unfurl. With a great whoosh of air, they take flight. Fair'ri charges across the battlefield, mighty wings propelling her towards their quarry...eyes fixated and determined. From the clouds, scores of wyverns appear, dotting the sky like dark stars against a bright sky. Thorfinn hangs on, the fingers of his left hand finding a familiar hold in the edge of a silvery scale. Fair'ri picks up speed then banks immediately to the left. With an outstretched arm, Thorfinn swings the mighty hammer, Le'Athyed'Dru'El. The well spiked head of the hammer catches a wyvern across it's face, bringing with it an eruption of blood and sending the winged beast spiraling to the ground far below.

Fair'ri pulls into a dive. Seconds before slamming into a wyvern at full speed, she shifts her momentum. Her razor claws thrust forward landing in the flesh of the wyvern, wrenching and slicing meaty chunks from its body. The wyvern screams out as blood explodes from the wound before tumbling to the battlefield below. A wyvern attempts to strike from above, but a well timed shield deflects the attack. Fair'ri whips around, catching the wyvern with a pinpoint strike of her tail, dazing it momentarily. She belches, letting loose a great jet from her throat that scorches the wyvern, melting parts of its flesh in an instant.

Joined now by three dragons, a second wyvern falls, then another and another. They drop like flies under the scorch of four dragon's breath in concert. Those that do not fall, turn tail and scatter.

Suddenly, a large shadow falls over Thorfinn as if the sun were eclipsed by a dark cloud. From above, the massive form of a Limestone dragon, Eristhinalus, the Voivode's mount, descends. At least twice the size of the massive Thalonis, it unfurls its mighty wings in an impressive show of intimidation. Eristhinalus lets out a mighty roar and the concerted dragon formation breaks. Thorfinn and Fair'ri bank right, then roll in close striking out at Eristhinalus with hammer and claw. They swirl around and around its hulking form with their counterparts, dodging his attacks as best they can, all the while trying to wear it down. Eristhinalus turns, faster than anticipated, and swipes at Thorfinn with it's sharp claws. His armor gives slightly as the glancing blow threatens to unseat him. But Fair'ri knows her rider well. All the days spent practicing and training, she is able to read Thorfinn's movements upon her back. A brief dive.. a slight roll and the Warmaster is secure.

In her double-chimed voice, Fair'ri roars "We must surround him!"

The plan begins to take shape and evolve as dragons and riders find a rhythm. With each pass and each strike, the toll on Eristhinalus becomes evident. Claws find bits of flesh, blades and arrows begin to split wings. Eristhinalus struggles to keep himself aloft as he loses altitude. Weariness and wound set in and finally, with a thunderous crash, the great Limestone is grounded...
