Introduction

The Ferrell Cave Tiger is a massive breed of tiger, significantly more powerful and vicious than even the dire tiger found in the T'Nanshi forests. Luckily, the cave tiger tends to avoid populated areas, preferring to live and hunt in caves. The cave tiger is a ferocious predator, typically stalking its prey before striking with its massive claws, then attacking the throat with its sharp teeth. More than once, Kassaerth has observed a cave tiger completely stun its prey with a single, unexpected swipe of its powerful paw.

Feeding Habits

Like other big cats, the cave tiger is almost exclusively carnivorous, preferring meat of virtually any type, either warmblooded or coldblooded.

Disposition and Social Habits

The cave tiger appears to live and travel alone or as mates. Kassaerth has never observed more than two adult cave tigers traveling together, although Kassaerth has once come across a mated pair with several cubs. It seems they are quite territorial, as Kassaerth has found separate pairs nearby each other, yet the pairs are clearly neither hunting together nor invading each others' territory. For safety's sake, it is important to note that the Ferrell Cave Tiger is extremely aggressive when approached.

Habitat

As its name implies, the Ferrell Cave Tiger is most commonly found in deep caves and canyons.

Fylgia

Most compatible: Panther

  • As a member of the feline family, the Ferrell Cave Tiger is certainly most similar to the panther. Like the panther, the cave tiger hunts alone or in small groups, and typically stalks its prey before silently moving in for the kill.

Other notes

Younger cubs, with less developed jaw muscles, may have difficulty tearing through tough hided or armored prey, which may make it necessary for the cubs' parents to seek out prey with softer, more accessible meat.
