Raiding the Bandits Hideout

Dear Solar Brigade,

This is my report of our activities last night.

Group 1 met at the tavern in the T'Nanshi market place. We were met by four wild mages. We then proceeded East until we could look down on the bandit hideout. The mages that joined us then bombarded the ruins with many loud and explosive spells from the platform. They then cast featherfall on us and we jumped to the ground. That was neat.

On the ground, we met with the derbies and fire from the bombardment. We were trying to find a way through when the bandits started raining down arrows and boulders on us. We almost lost Erriss under a tree, but we managed to move it and Shannen healed her.

We chose then to rush the bandits firing at us. Some of us did take some damage and we briefly took shelter behind a rock wall to heal up before we again charged the bandits. We did manage to take out a nest of bandits with those big crossbow looking things. However, the place was booby trapped so we had to runaway.

We were again assaulted by boulders and arrows from a distance. We charged again and found a small camp with bandits running out of a single tent. We rushed into battle. Many of us fell and were raised to fall again. I did think to set the tent on fire in case it was also trapped. It must have been because it exploded like the big crossbow things. We managed to put down the bandits after that, because no more came out of the tent.

Paco then scouted inside the tent. He found a trap door. We went down into a cave. Paco picked the lock on the cave door and we saw a small room. Paco spotted holes in the ceiling. Mereppi shot a fireball spell up into the holes. Water came pouring down. We almost lost Paco then because the door closed and locked on him. Rolly and Rune did manage to bash it open. The water came in deeper. Our fighters rushed in and bashed the further door. The water drained away.

We then fought the bandits in the next room. It was a tough fight. Once again many of us fell and were raised only to fall again. We did clear the room.

Paco went to work on the next door. It was another small room. Paco did find more traps. A lot more traps. The whole room was covered in traps. We almost lost Paco to the traps. Gak did have to pull him to safety so Shannen could heal him. Mereppi tried to disable the traps with a fireball and herself. Then at the last, she did have to blast open the far door.

We were once again facing bandits. Scores of them. Everyone of us but Paco fell. Paco did manage to heal me and I had to go through Shannen's things to find the rod of resurrection to bring back the others. (I think Paco did not want to go through a woman's things.) Thank O'Ma they were all returned!

While I was looking for the rod, two bandits did pass by and Paco and I had to be very quiet. Then the ground stared to shake and tremble. I was wondering if we were not going to be completely lost under a cave in. That did not happen but the bandits did collapse their tunnel and we could go no further. We had to retreat.

Once safe back upon the platform in the canopies, we told the red mages what had transpired and that we did not get to the leader of the bandits. The red mages were going to take a look and flew away. The rest of us stumbled back to the market place to rest and restock.

Further Bandit Hideout Raiding

Greetings Solar Brigade,

Here is my report of Team One's activities.

We gathered at the Ferrell AMM to assess our situation in regards to the bandits. There we were visited by a dragon named Lilly and her handler named Emily.

Emily reported to us that the mages that went to check the bandit hideout in T'Nanshi found the whole cave system collapsed. The did find some lay lines which pointed them to two islands on the coast.

Emily and Lilly were sent to scout the area. One island Emily called Apple island because she found an apple tree there. This island is heavily warded both by magic and non-magic fortifications. It has walls and towers and one heavily defended harbor. The other island Emily called Acorn island because Emily got an acorn in her shoe. This island was also warded by magic. However, most of the rest of the island is thickly covered by oak trees. There is a cliff where the bandits have carved out housing. The bandits also have platforms in the trees with heavy fighting machines. We are indeed up against a most impressive foe.

Emily and Lilly declared that the only approach to either island was by the air. The magic wards prevented portalling. However, these islands are too far off the coast for a fly spell. Merreppi and I thought to find an enchanted flying ship to approach the islands while Indy was trying to talk Lilly into flying us there. Unfortunately, Lilly is a courier and scouting dragon, not a carrier dragon. Yet, Emily and Lilly knew of a carrier dragon named Ash that we might be able to talk into helping us. Ash is a very grumpy dragon. ((There is a blot of ink here as though the writer paused with her pen posed above the paper.))

So we went off to see this dragon, of course. Our first obstacle was to get through Little Falls Canyon, which I have been through only twice before while following Owen Alaster-Aliastair. Fortunately, Merreppi knew her way. At first we, fended off the usual giant bees, wisps, beetles and the like. Then we were ambushed by the same bandits we were trying to defeat. Many of us fell. Thank the gods and Rolly, all were returned. It seems they know almost our every move.

Rune, Indy and I got separated at that point as the others moved on while we were trying to put back on our gear. We were attacked by some Ferrell tigers. Sadly, I could not charm them. Gak found us after that and we got back with the others. It was then we stumbled along invisible for awhile bumping into each other. We seemed to be harassed by bandits most of the way. Although, they seemed to be invisible too and I could not get a shot off at them. Gak seemed to plow right through them.

When we stumbled out on to the ledge near the path into Derome Delem, Emily and Lilly were waiting surrounded by bandits. Well, dead bandits - burning dead bandits. The smell was.. well I'm sure you've had the experience. It appears quite an army was waiting for us up on that ledge and the mage and Lilly took them by surprise from the air.

We decided we needed a rest. So we moved upwind of the mess and made camp.

The next day, Emily sent Lilly aloft to find us when we next came to the surface and we went into Derome Delem to find a present for Ash. In the market, we started talking to a merchant to see what he had when Merreppi's sister found us. Merreppi, not wanting to be delayed by her mother, urged us to leave. Emily then quickly created a portal and we found our selves by very foul smelling water.

We made haste to leave the area. Moving northward we crossed paths with some Avariel. They viewed us with some suspicion. Erriss and Indy stared asking about relatives. Eventually, one recognized the name of Erriss's brother. She handed Erriss a broach with a picture of Erriss, Erriss's brother and Erriss's sister. It turns out Erriss is going to be an aunt.

Meanwhile, I found a cat to play with while Erriss and Indy visited. She was a very nice cat. I asked her if she wanted to travel with me but she declined. I think she might have had a family to provide for.

We moved on further North and found a travel marker. The closest village was Waynbleck. While the others discussed what to do next, I found some bears to play with. I gave them all some Ferrell trout and told them about my companion, Storm, that travelled with me for awhile. There were two black bears and a brown bear there.

We went into Waynbleck and found a gnomish merchant who sold us a contraption to take to Ash as a present. We struggled for hours to get it out of his shop but we finally managed. Lilly then found us and consented to carry the device to Ash's lair.

We then hiked to Ash's lair. I must say, by this time I was feeling a bit nervous that we had not yet been attacked by bandits. I had really expected them long before now. They could have taken us any time during our hike.

We entered Ash's lair and the plan was, Indy was to talk to the dragon and persuade him to help us fly to the islands. I think everyone but Indy was nervous considering his reputation. We greeting Ash and told him about the contraption we brought him for a present but when we mentioned Lilly's name Ash got quite upset. He ordered us to leave in a very menacing manner. Merreppi, Erriss and I fled. When we got outside the cavern we realized that Indy was not with us. Worried for her safety, I crept back down the tunnel, bow in hand and arrow ready. I peered out from behind a rock and spied Indy chatting away with the dragon. ((From here on out the text gets very splotchy and shaky as if the writer's hand was shaking while she was writing and she paused several times pen poised above the paper.))

Indy kept talking ((splotch)) to the dragon. ((blot)) Despite the dragon's fearsome insistence that she leave. ((drip, drip)) Indy kept talking and talking. ((blot)) The dragon finally collapsed on the floor of his lair and told me to get the others which I did. ((drip)) As Merreppi and Erriss came back, Ash ((splotch)) begged us to take Indy ((blot)) away. ((drip, drip, drip, drip)) Ash told us he would do anything ((blot)) if we would take Indy away with us. Merreppi told the dragon what we wanted and he ((blot)) agreed to take us to the islands in sevens days time. ((smear))

In, conclusion, we did then drag Indy from the cave; had Lilly leave the contraption at the cave entrance and did part ways until seven days did pass. ((inky thumbprint))

Visimontium

Greetings Solar Brigade.

Here is my report from team one of our most recent activities.

We gathered in Visimontium to find that Shannen was unable to recharge our rod of resurrection because the price of recharging had gone up. We decided then that before we pursue the bandits further, we had best seek out a a place to recharge the rod.

Merreppi lead us to the temple of Andrinor and we approached the Father at the recharging table. He examined the rod and told us he saw the rod had gotten much use and could use a little repairing. The Father told us that if we did him a little favor, he would repair it. He told us he needed the hair of a white wolf to complete something that he was working on.

I thought I might be able to charm one and bring it back alive. So we set off to the mountains following Rolly who knew where the white wolf roamed. We hiked up the mountain trail past the beautiful waterfalls, though a cave and there they were - a whole pack of them!

I pulled on my gloves of animal handling and drank a potion of eagle's splendor. I then walked into the pack of magnificent beasts. There coats were so white. They turned on me immediately. They snarled and growled and breathed an icy blast of air upon me. I tried to dodged their snapping jaws and tried to avoid their ripping claws. They did me some damage, friends, but I did manage to charm one and lure it away from the others while the rest of the Solar Brigade laid into the rest of the pack to keep it at bay.

Indy healed me. I then turned to the white wolf and gave it the name of White. I taught him to follow me. Then we hiked back down to the temple where I presented White to the Father. The Father showed me where the sanctuary was at the top of the tower and we left White there. Father said he would be released in a few days.

The Father then gave me back the rod of resurrection and I took it down to Shannen. She said it had a lot more charges on it now. We agreed to meet again in seven days to see if we could conquer the bandits.

Defeat of the Bandits

Greetings Solar Brigade!

I bring good news in this dark hour. We have defeated the bandits! Give great praise to Paco, Rolly and Rune, Merreppi and Shannen, Eriss and Indy. I do hope Indy writes a song for us and sings it at the next MMM! It was an epic battle! Fought well and hard by us "young 'uns". Our external enemy is defeated! Surly, as O'Ma teaches us, to do great work in the outside world changes us inside. Let us hope we can now heal our internal rift.

Until we meet again,

Escape of Some Bandits

Greetings Solar Brigade,

I must report that a new development has occurred. Emily and Lilly reported last night that an investigation was made of the Bandit's lair off the coast of T'Nanshi. They found the treasure room empty with a trapped portal. This indicates that the remaining bandits made off with a vast amount of treasure. They also found a record room. After studying the records, they concluded that we did slay the majority of the bandits, however, the small number that got away took a lot of gold with them. There was a book there with the names of assassins. A page was missing from that book. This may indicate that a group of assassins has our names! Be careful, my friends.
