Arsher is one of the primary gods on the moon of Erdan which orbits a gas giant in Daggerspace. As the creator of the Goblinoid races, he was one of the first generation of gods on Erdan. During his human life, he had a relationship with the denizens of the Abyss, particularly the Negari who promised him a world of his own but tricked him by bringing him to Erdan without entrusting that world to his care.

After realizing the deception, he tried to escape along with the rest of his human peers. He was wrapped up in the conflict between the Sprits and Demons of Erdan, and flip flopped between both sides for his own benefit. Later, he discovered the Blue Orb with his peers and used this artifact to become a god.

Eventually, the new gods claimed the world for their own and banished the demons to the nearby gas giant. They also kicked the weakened sprits out to a group of small remote islands on Erdan. The new gods used their combined powers to banish the leader of the spirits, also a deity, to a special pocket dimension prison. After this, Arsher still wanted to claim Erdan (and eventually all of Daggerspace) for himself, and he plotted against the rest of the gods.

The rest of the Gods continually blocked his input in the development of Erdan and during the Age of Heroes he had no power over the planet and no worshipers.

During the later ages, he finally created races of his own, and in a sadistic mockery of the current races, he made the goblinoids as a loyal horde of barbaric monsters to destroy the civilizations on Erdan. This sparked the Great Divine War, which saw all the races fighting against the goblinoids, and the Gods fighting against Arsher and his family.

Arsher lost this war, and most of the goblinoid population was killed as well. The other gods used their powers to imprison Arsher in a small dimension as they had done to the old spirit leader. After his imprisonment, his image was muddied on Erdan.

Many cultures venerate him as a powerful warrior god, and many others demonize him considering him the greatest threat to the world. In his imprisoned state, he makes many of his offspring one with his divine essence, so that they could continue his plans. During this time period, he had enough power to directly empower one person with extraordinary abilities, with the few true worshippers of his own. This person was his greatest hobgoblin prophet, who used his power to found a church with other goblinoids and humans, and a city-state in Arsher's name. This church is the largest and most aggressively religious sect of Arsher worshipers on Erdan. They have a long history, but in general there have been many heresies and many of those groups left Erdan into Daggerspace once it was possible to preach of their teachings to other worlds. The Arsher cults have been one of the most subversive and threatening groups on Erdan, as they try to act on the instructions to slowly take over and fulfill his will.
