A Brief Conversation

At the very edge of the final assault on the Voivode's location, seven M'Chek Blackhawks approach a wounded shaahesk mage. The creature lets out a hiss and its form begins to change. The soldiers move in but they now face a large metallic construct. The golem swings down its right fist, crushing the skull of one of the soldiers, while it backhands a Corporal with its left. The unnatural strength lifts the Corporal off the ground and fourty feet across the field. The Corporal collides with something unseen in mid air just over a small hill. He lands on the ground accompanied by a loud snapping sound. At the moment of impact the scene on the small hill changes as five figures suddenly appear and a wand flies through the air.

A fat, moaning Kharakuro hangs upside down with his head on the ground and his foot stuck in the stirrup of his mount, an apathetic looking donkey. The Kharakuro curses as the donkey begins to walk towards the wand, dragging him with it. Not far from these two, stand three somewhat more imposing figures. A battle armored minotaur looks towards those fighting closest to the hill, his hands on the hilt of his large stone blade, a weapon which looks massive even relative to its wielder. To the minotaur's right hand side stands a woman clothed from head to toe in dull grey armor and a cloak to match. Her attention is focused on fighting further away, the heart of the battle. At her right hand side stands a battle scarred shaahesk, his spear firmly planted in the ground, and a falchion sheathed at his side.

The Minotaur speaks,"We are no longer hidden. Find your wand little dwarf" as he keeps his eye on the soldiers which seem to have noted their presence.

The woman turns to her right, "Kasseshisrath will not survive this, the war is over".

"It always was an overambitious plan", replies the shaahesk. The woman turns her gaze back onto the battle, "I could have won. If it was not for the nature of your people".

The shaahesk speaks, now with an amused tone, "You knew what we were, Thrael. Though it is an additional shame that Kasseshisrath could not be convinced of the merit of a smaller campaign. You did try, did you not?".

"His experience in the confines granted him vision, but an unyielding one, yes", the one called Thrael answers. She continues, "Have you decided what you will do? If you were to return to Drotid City, you would end the coming internal war. Become Voivode Kalinak".

Kalinak flicks his tongue and replies, "I will remain with you for a time. I am intrigued by this unchained prisoner".

Thrael nods slowly at the shaahesk's words. From behind them, the now freed Kharakuro announces "Kathuraz has discovered his great wand of invisibility! Shall he hide the lady again?".

"No. We're leaving", the woman answers. The Kharakuro waves another wand and shouts "My great master, grant us passage on the wings of your power so that we may see your lovely face aga-", the kharakuro is interrupted as the Minotaur grabs his shoulder and impatiently demands, "Just get us out of here".

The dark dwarf grumbles and with a word of magya a watery portal opens. The five step through the portal, which closes immediately after the donkey wanders through.

Laying halfway up the hill, the Corporal rolls over with a grunt as the remainder of his squad approaches. "Thanks for all the help Corporal. Who were your friends?", the one in the lead says.

"I don't know what they were talking about, but I'm sure someone will care to hear about it. Now help me up, this leg is fucking killing me."
