Above the Keep - By Lorelai Silvermoon Volume 23

Though training continues, it is rare now to find both Fair'rinth and Thorfinn away from Hel'byssia. One of them almost always stays at Hel'byssia if the other must leave.

Cole recounts a brief conversation with Astoria regarding the presence of neutral hybrid dragons upon the pyrite isles. They may just be rogue strays, but she was still concerned ... she and Raalok plan to speak with an old gravel acquaintance of theirs, and shall inform them of any actions they can then take ...

Skyla paused briefly in the training flight at Thaylis' unspoken insistence, landing near the battered windmill used for weapons drills. The five-bladed structure was used for archery practice, allowing the skirmishers and scouts the opportunity to hone their skills at shooting at a moving target while on dragon back. The Hunter looked at the moving blades of the windmill, noting to himself that each held a barrel lid painted in different colors, providing the riders with different targets in which to choose from.

He tracked Traxys' rapid descent for Eoryn's chance at the small moving target, the Silver closing quickly with the windmill. An appreciative smile swept his face as two arrows struck the red lid. Thaylis' eyes scanned the sky once more, his gaze lingering on the distance forms of Seraph and Rinedra. He was thankful that the two of them were a suitable match as he was sure their skills and those of the entire Wing would be tested in the coming weeks and months.

He was satisfied with the success he and Skyla had achieved thus far in their training, though he knew it would be an ongoing endeavor. They both were instinctively trusting the other, anticipating each others' movements and melding into a coherent team. He was no longer just a passenger and she a means of achieving flight, but rather both had become an integrated part of the other.

The two Pelarites continued to watch other pairs make their passes at the windmill, the Hunter making mental notes at any possible adjustments needed in training. With another wordless command, Skyla took to the skies once more, the pair resuming the day's training.
