As reports and accounts are tallied, official word is spread of the death tolls from the night's most recent engagement. Of the stone dragons that rose up to meet their encroaching forces, their riders managed to slay ten, dropping them from on high to ruin below ... many stemming from the heavy cavalries leading of pursuit into a deadly counterattack by the skirmishers under Thaylis, and the subsequent diving charge lead back on top of them as the more melee oriented dragons wheeled around.

Four more Coals had their wings shredded by arrow fire and were forced to the ground, where they were slain with handfuls of other Coals, and one large Amber.

Of their own forces, they lost two ... a Brass and a Silver. And Tryphena was knocked to the ground, but should be recovering.

With hopeful thinking of the new recruits getting brought up to speed, this leaves the riders at a total of six less dragons (and perhaps riders) than at their onset. Seven if Tryphena is downed for any considerable time. In battle, they have seemed to keep a constant ratio of slaying upwards of five stones for every one of theirs, oftentimes more ... yet the mood of the Champion is cautious and unsatisfied, though he encourages the riders to celebrate these small victories, these step stones, and leave worried thought to him.

Training will reconvene at the appointed hours. They will improve.
