To use any of this material IC on NWN Avlis Servers, you must request approval of this material to by the Avlis Team. Send a PM to the Dungeon Masters group on the Avlis forums to begin that approval process.
You may use this material for non-server-related Avlis events, such as D&D/PnP.
Avlis started as a PnP Campaign ages ago. During NWN Avlis' original creation during the earlier years, the two often aligned. However, over the years, some things have happened in the NWN Universe of Avlis that haven't happened in PnP, some things were changed, some backstories/content deviated, some things were retconned to be more compatible with the current era, and everything between.
Instead of simply removing a lot of this information from review, we instead took the initiative to at least make it distinctly clear. While MOST things on the Avlis Wiki are intended for NWN usage (and thus do not need to be explicitly marked for NWN Avlis usage) we run into situations such as this where the content is good, but may or may not be aligned with NWN Avlis.
Instead of deleting the content, by keeping it on the wiki and by following the request process, we can:
- Have it act as gatekeeping that info that's not (yet) common knowledge
- with gatekeeping it allows the Event Team to confirm its accuracy/viability in the NWN Avlis Universe vs. it's original PnP Campaign version, and possibly make relevant changes to import/stamp it for official use on the NWN Servers
- serves as supplementary material and provides an opportunity, because "you don't know to ask about if you don't know it even exists"
- A work in progress, this approach allows us to keep the content and over time, as-needed, use it for reference until if/when effort is initiated to have it become canon
Anyone is free to PM the team, get the relevant info of what is in fact 100% IC and usable, and get permission to post up wiki pages that are fully NWN (like the other ones are) and do that leg work as well
