Introduction

The ubiquitous dragonfly, gossamer wings reflect and refract the light giving rise to miniature rainbows.

Feeding Habits

Dragonflies are carnivorous, mostly eating smaller insects. The larvae have even been known to eat things as large as tadpoles and small fish.

Disposition and Social Habits

Dragonfly's are territorial of their breeding grounds, however the size of the area they defend varies greatly and is usually only held for a few hours.

Habitat

Native to wetlands areas, however given their ability to migratory patterns they can often be found near any bodies of water which can support their larval stage.
