Dearest readers and fellow clergy,

Peace be with you and great blessings upon all your household! This book is meant to convey some of the philosophies of Dru'El; glory and exaltation to Him. The document will not speak on Dru'El's History or Generalities. These have been covered in other texts. Instead, we will consider deific precepts from a philosophical stance as is common for religious discourse.

Understanding of the Divine Nature of Dru'El An individual is unable to grasp the higher realities using the ability to reason alone, because reason is grounded in our very limited sensory experience. The origin of the universe, the purpose of life, the nature of Dru'El are impossible for reason by itself to comprehend. The higher realities are revealed by Dru'El directly to His People, in the form of divine revelation. We cannot get them by means of our own limited understanding. Discernment of the higher realities comes only by knowing the heart as Dru'El stirs it and His Allowance of peaks into His Nature and the nature of Avlis.

These revelations can come from a number of sources. The most commonplace source is that of His Church. However, Dru'El has revealed Himself in other ways including direct intervention, sending of an intermediary, dreams, visions and even death travel to and from beautiful Aborea. The latter is not the suggested method. Instead, seek you a priest of Dru'El when questions need answering or pray to Him earnestly yourself.

As you begin to understand your motivations and the urges of your heart, a oneness can be achieved bringing about a great sense of peace and a closeness to Dru'El's Ways. Dru'El's Kin will begin to see that they are a mirror of the world around them. And the world is a reflection of themselves. This comprehension manifests itself as a desire to change the self and help others. Inevitably, you will be led to better society by giving of yourself as your talents dictate. However, this will always involve helping the less fortunate than yourself. Dru'El is providing for all people through your actions, spurring you on to love those who suffer.

As an aside, I have always admired mages of Dru'El because they are a very special group. While their understanding of the arcane stems from logic and reason, they are capable of following their hearts in matters of the divine.

Righteousness By Following The Law? Can a person receive righteousness through strict adherence to the law? In the church of Dru'El, we do not believe that to always be the case. Surely laws are needed for guidelines of conduct. However, Dru'El teaches us that we are individuals and that we each must face situations that can not be predicted nor every circumstance accounted for by the law. Therefore, law is an imperfect medium of preventing abuse.

Instead, we look at each event individually and discern the best action to take. I have a saying that goes, 'We Follow The Spirit, Not The Letter, Of The Law.' Yes, we try to act in accordance to the law, knowing fully that exceptions can and must be made as situations dictate.

Allow me to elaborate further about the 'spirit of the law'. As His kin, we look beyond the written letter of the law to discern its spirit. Then we follow the spirit of the law, which is in accord with Dru'El's Will, who stirs our hearts. By following the spirit of the law, we fulfill the law as Dru'El intends for us to do. This gives us wonderful freedom, because we naturally desire to do those things which the law requires us to do and yet can respond differently if the scenario, and our hearts deem it necessary.

Abuse can never be allowed or tolerated. It is a direct conflict to Dru'El's Precepts and must be prevented. This includes laws that would encourage abuse.

I pray that these truths enlighten and encourage your own voyage through life. Remember, when the heart is known, the path is clear.

Yours in faith,

Manuel Thayt'Le'Megen, High Priest of Dru'El in Western T'Nanshi
