The field healer's thoughts

I think the news about an assassin within our ranks unsettled us all, and that they was targeting our commanding officers ranks posed June with a tough decision. Looking nothing like a normal soldier the assassin would likely not be discouraged by her presence. But whom should she trail around with?

After logically evaluating the situation she decides to follow Field Marshal Unuldur. Col. Silver had been quite confident in her ability to counter their attempts after all, and besides being higher in rank, June was also worried about how long it was since he'd been in serious combat.

A knit of concentration is seen on her forehead just as she hoods up from keeping the pattern for banishment half formed in her mind. She would not hesitate to use it sending the Marshal to safety, should it be necessary.

A while later June is struck paralyzed, as the fine blood splatters was still falling. What on Negaria had happened? She was just staring at the bloody pulp for what seemed an eternity, then an officer... seemingly far off, tells here something, and the world snaps back to life for her.

Someone had called her over, a soldier was feeling unwell. Not wanting to leave Unuldur's side for any longer than necessary, she had formed the psionic pattern for a door. Vaguely aware of the explosion. The soldier had exploded, spraying all shocked bystanders with a mist of blood and flesh particles. How? She looked at the remains... an elf she noted. Had he carried a bomb, and the illness was just an excuse to get the officer's attention. Or was it symptoms of something else?

Unwilling to do a more thorough examination she hurried back to the Marshal, wiping the blood away from her face and hands with a rag. A grim expression now. "This was just the beginning of the war, and not a good one", she thought.
