Introduction to Reality
The Prime Material Plane is generally accepted by most societies as the main realm of existence where all elements and energies coalesce into true reality. However, sages have noted that various wizards and other travelers have oft reported the existence of other realities on alternate Prime Material Planes. Though the existence of these planes has not been proven, they are theorized.
Transitive Planes are the key to reaching alternate realities, according to the theory. This is because of their multi-planar borders and permeative nature. There are three known transitive planes: The Plane of Shadow, The Ethereal Plane, and The Astral Plane.
To various degrees, these planes border on the Prime Material Plane, as well as either the Outer Planes, the Inner Planes, or various other minor plane types, and theoretically, alternate realities.
Minor Planes, also called Demi-planes, or Pocket Planes by some, are often found in these Transitive Planes. They can be as small as a speck of dust, or as large as any planet, though they are never infinite. Only the Transitive Planes themselves are Infinite.
