Talk:Rules:Player Housing
A note on NPC Hirelings
Regarding the requirements for hirelings:
1.7) NPCs Requirements
Any NPC added to Player Housing is to have a CR of no higher than 1/8.
What fits that bill: A Level 1 Commoner.
How far can that bill stretch: A creature with a DEFAULT CR of 1/8 (eg. a Kitten) or close enough for it to be brought to 1/8 (eg. a House cat) will be considered. They will still have to lose all feats, etc., including creature feats (IC-ly you get a declawed, slow cat). You will still have to ask about this prior to submission.
What does NOT fit that bill: A creature with a DEFAULT CR of a much greater magnitude which has been artificially lowered to 1/8 (eg. a Dire Wolf or a Nymph).
What does DEFAULT CR mean: This is the default CR value that you will see for a creature in the NWN toolset. It is an adequate reflection of the challenge rating for this creature type, cumulative of its statistics, creature feats, special abilities and more (see: NWN CR formula). It defines the creature as such.
TL;DR: Without its claws, a house cat is a sad case. Without fairy magic, a fairy is sadder still. Please don't do this to the kittens and fairies. Hire a Level 1 Commoner. Get a pet that can be easily mauled by a child, not vice versa. ;-)
And remember, kids:
- 1.2) If there is something you want in your house but it is not listed here, it is NOT AVAILABLE for Player Housing. The Team grants exceptions on a case by case basis. Exceptions are granted ONLY before submission, they require prior approval. When an item you wish to include requires PRIOR approval, get PRIOR approval. Submitting a house and asking for permission afterwards through documentation or PMs, SHALL BE grounds for immediate rejection.
