Welcome Plethora

This is your avlis wiki home page you can delete anything you are not interested in, and add notes to the things you want to start on.

Create descriptions for items in new natural briar

This needs to be flushed out a bit, but it will have platable seeds and a number of different size briar plants. This is in even a less developed form than the note system.

I would like to start working on this please, just tell me where to start...

or do I just start making things up?

New version of Natural Briar

Notes from a A Druid’s Grove on briars:

The next vital feature is a system of protection for the druid and her charges, both plant and animal. This often takes the form of natural barriers, such as briar hedges or dense forest.

She has trained natural briars to surround the area on the other three sides. These thorn bushes rise to a height of approximately 10 feet, blocking vision and access, and they average 5 feet in thickness. Though she herself needs no path through these briars—because she can use her woodland stride ability to pass

the wall counts as thick undergrowth for the purpose of movement. In addition, any creature trying to force its way through the briars takes 5 points of damage per round of movement, minus 1 point for each point of its AC (Dexterity and dodge bonuses to AC do not count for this calculation). Chopping away at the briars creates a safe passage 1 foot deep for every 5 minutes of work, and normal fire can burn a hole completely through the thorns in 10 minutes. Of course, any attempt to harm the barrier draws Thyme’s ire.

Woodland Stride: Starting at 2nd level, a druid may move through natural thorns, briars, overgrown areas, and similar terrain at his or her normal speed and without suffering damage or other impairment. However, thorns, briars, and overgrown areas that are enchanted or magically manipulated to impede motion still affect the druid.

Some random notes:

This will be a plantable briar that will grow over time, and people will be able to destroy it with fire and other things.

  • Briar seed item with background description and cost.
    • different seeds with different plant properties
      • growth rate
      • thorns
      • some resistance to fire...
  • Only druids can plant the seeds.
  • list of things that can destroy the plant.
  • thoughts on how to distribute the seeds (dm reward, a very high priced item)
    • I would like to make it so a Druid would feel very upset if one of these plants was harmed or destroyed.
  • The plants will be removed on a server resets, It might be nice to add this to the story somehow (bugs, blight...)
