Freedom is a word that is valued by most, granted to many, and truly understood by few. To be free is to walk on one's own path and control one's own fate. In order to have choice, to have freedom, one must be a Master in their own domain and that goal of Mastery is at the very heart of each Violet Order Mage.
By choosing the Violet Order, a mage is choosing freedom to explore every aspect of arcane knowledge granted to them by our Lord Andrinor. The Violet Order understands that Freedom is not without Consequence, and although it places no formal restrictions on the use of the Arcane gift, it believes that those who do not understand Consequence, will not live long enough to ever become a True Master.
