House of the Ebon Blade
Founding Statement
Greetings Academicians,
I am formally introducing the House of the Ebon Blade, a merging of the former Orders of the Gold, Ebony, and Violet. We represent the combined history, knowledge, and prestige of these three Orders.
Purpose:
Provide a place to land for mages who have no use for the sanctimony of an Argent Sun, the lack of rigor of a Red Manor, the vaguery of Mist and Shadow, or the druidic aspirations of Wildfire.
We Will:
Advance the study of the Arcane, including in those areas that other Houses might disdain: necromancy in all its spectrums, demonology, enchantment.
Provide a genuine meritocratic environment, where hard work is rewarded and recognized. You will always have opportunities for advancement if you are willing to seize upon them.
Work closely with a variety of military, paramilitary, religious and trade organizations in a broad range of markets and national jurisdictions.
What is the Ebon Blade's outlook on magic?
Our combined Orders represent a long history of arcane talent towards the refinement and betterment of the arcane as a weapon and tool for personal enrichment, and we intend to continue that tradition as the Ebon Blade. The strong do what they can; the weak suffer what they must. We value ambition, discipline, pragmatism, and freedom.
Who is eligible to join?
The strong, the determined, the ambitious, the cunning.
The Ebony Order had a fine tradition of tests for each Initiate that wished to join our Order, and we will continue that tradition going forward as a House. We represent a true meritocracy, where the competent and capable can rise to great heights, whether you're a mage, a bard, a psion, or just a student of magic. We will not discriminate based on your chosen profession (or state of unlife), but on your efficacy and hunger to succeed.
