He possesses fine, handsome features, a quick smile, and a ready laugh. A tan complexion and healthy aura speak of much time outdoors. His hair and eyes are brown, though his irises are ringed in a silver color that hints at an outsider ancestry, a likely explanation for his sorcerous talents. Despite rumors of a life as a rich layabout, Sammy is often found in functional clothes often showing the stains and marks of adventure. Personality Sammuel's personality tends to outsize his stature. His laugh is boisterous, and is often employed. He possesses a sharp and effusive wit. Whether this is employed to the chagrin or support of those he is speaking with changes by the line. His outlook on life and much that it entails is by all appearances rather light. Indeed, despite hob-nobbing with the movers and shakers of southern Avlis, and a childhood full of promise, Sammy has done little politically to make his mark on the world. Nor does he seem to possess the drive to do so. He is, though, unerringly devoted to the study of the arcane, thought this rarely enters his conversations with non-mages. Abilities Sammuel's sorcery manifested early in his childhood, gaining him notice as a childhood prodigy of the arcane. Since the maturation of his innate talent, he has begun to approach the arcane path from a different vantage, that of wizardry. This has given him a breadth, if not depth, of talent hitherto unmatched among his counterparts. History Sammuel grew up an urchin in the streets of Mikona. At the age of four he was adopted by the paladin Vian Valorian after the young boy showed a sorcerous spark. From that point he was raised by Vian and an adventuring band of 'uncles;' the dwarves Harthgraepa and Feeb, and the elf Tri'as. Though always small for his age, once adopted and properly cared for and fed, Sammuel's arcane ability quickly blossomed. His abilities, especially burgeoning for such a young age, were not without cost. Among his adoptive family the dwarves bespoke their detriments loudest of all through often-singed beards. Sammuel proved impossible to keep out of adventure. Despite being tied up, locked down, scolded, or threatened concerning the dangers of such, he followed his uncles on all of their adventures. This he did sometimes to their knowledge, sometimes not. He learned quickly, and proved to have a natural talent for the evoker's negotiation of dangerous situtations. Present Day Despite a childhood full of promise Sammuel as an adult has left no lasting mark on Avlis. Possessing a well earned and self proclaimed reputation as a layabout, he has taken no active part in politics, guild life, or religion. By popular account, he seems to be quite content to live a pampered existence paid for by his and his uncle's adventure-gained fortunes, which are rumored to be quite large. The veracity of this would be disputed by those who adventure with him. It is well known that he keeps residence in a tower in the City Gates District of Mikona, is a patron of the arts as well as rookie adventurers, and has built the finest bar in the city (Mikona's Finest Playhouse).
